Different Types Of Leadership Styles - 1718 Words

There are several kinds of leadership styles used to facilitate the actions of others. Mirriam-Webster.com defines leadership as â€Å"a position as a leader of a group, organization, etc†. Another more inclusive definition regarding the leading role is â€Å"managers motivating employees, directing their activities, selecting the most effective communication channels, or resolving conflicts among members† (Robbins, Judge, 2013). If a company or organization suffers from poor, none, or the wrong leadership styles, everyone involved will pay and it can break them. Dawnetta Tipton Infant and Toddler Development 10/18/2012 Fall Semester 6:00pm – 9:05pm Infant Toddler Observations Karen Eaton Dawnetta Tipton OBSERVATION ASSIGNMENT Name: Dawnetta Tipton Date: 10/2/2012 Time: 5:00pm Age of child: 9 months old This observation took place in the child’s grandmother home. Her name is Laila and she is a 9 months old and she is a bright little girl with pretty black hair and she had 3 ponytails with hair bows and barrettes. I was invited over by the child’s grandmother; we have been friends since high school. We will write a custom essay sample on Observation of a Infant/Toddler or any similar topic only for you Order Now We were sitting in the Living room of the house, the grandmother and I were sitting on the sofa which was black and gray and Laila was playing on the floor where her grandmother had placed a big blanket which had the cartoon character of the Angry Birds. There were baby toys placed on floor such as a stuffed animal, red and yellow rattle, orange teething room. The blinds were open and the sun shining in bright on the clean white walls. There was a black computer desk and chair sitting in the corner of the living room with a screensaver showing a picture of my friend and her family. My impression of Laila was that she was a bright 9 month old child who was very alert and aware of her surroundings. She interacted with me and her grandmother, she kept a smile on her face and made noises and she gave us kisses. She is learning to walk so she went from one end of the sofa to the other end while holding on to the cushions on the sofa. She is very friendly and did not cry while I was there visiting with her grandmother. This child will not be ignored, if she sees that you are not paying her any attention she will crawl over to you and pull up on your pant leg so that she can get the attention desired. Dawnetta Tipton Child’s Actions: 3:02pm Laila started to cry while sitting on the floor, her grandmother picker her up from the floor and asked her â€Å"what’s wrong granny baby? †, are you hungry and the cry became louder, she fixed her a bottle of milk and she stop crying when given the bottle. :07pm Laila is laying on her grandmother while drinking her bottle of milk, she is gazing up looking at her grandmother while we were having a conversation. 3:12pm Laila gestured for her grandmother to put her down on the floor by stretching her body out and she was placed onto the blanket that had been placed on the floor with the toys on it, she picked up the brown teddy bear and started to play with i t. 3:17pm Laila crawls over to me and pulls on my pants until she’s standing up, she put her hands up gesturing for me to pick her up and I picked her up, she began to play with my earrings and laughs out loud. :22pm Laila sat on my lap and played with my silver necklace which had a blue sapphire pendant while I talked with her and she was all smiles. 3:27pm Laila reached out for her grandmother after playing with my necklace became boring to her and her grandmother reached out for her and she was smiling and she gave her a wet kiss right on grandmother’s lips. Name: Dawnetta Tipton Date: 10/2/2012 Time: 1pm Age of Child: 1 year 10months This observation took place in the child’s home. Kylan is a 1 year and 10 month old little boy who is brown skinned with a short cute little afro, he’s wearing a black gray Nike jogging suit. In the living room his 3 older siblings were present and also his mother. The room was very well kept, there was a red and blue toy box in the corner of the room which contained several different toys kept in it for kylan. There was a brown and tan sofa, loveseat and chair, 40 inch television with a playstation system plugged into it. In which his siblings were sitting on the floor playing a basketball game. The living room walls were beige with a brown border going around the top of the entire wall with seashells as the print. The carpet was dark brown and fuzzy. My impression of Kylan was that he was very active, he’s always on the move doing something. He went over to his toy box and pulled out a small blue toy police car, he plays with it for about 3 minutes and then goes over to the sibling brothers to try and take the controller away from the brother closest to the television. Big brother tells him â€Å"No† you too little to play the game and he gets mad and tries to scratch brother face with his left hand. He then Dawnetta Tipton proceeds over to his mother raising up both hands for mom to pick him up and she does, he starts trying to talk with mom and he’s smiling and gesturing her hands to his face to play the game Peek-a-Boo. This child receives all the attention he needs from his mother and brothers. Child’s Actions 2pm: Kylan is walking around the living room playing with a little orange basketball, tossing the ball from me to his mom. :04pm: Kylan now tosses the ball at his 6 year old brother who gets mad and tells mom his little brother is bothering him while he’s playing the game, mom tells him to stop, he laughs and runs in the back bedroom. 2:06pm: Kylan is now standing by mom’s bed and tries to hide when I enter the room, he comes out of hiding and runs pass me back into the living room and jumps up in mom la p and start hugging her neck. 2:11pm: Kylan jumped down from mom lap and starts playing with his blue toy police car, starts to make noise as saying â€Å"Vroom-Vroom†. :13pm: Kylan sits on his older brother lap so that he can help big brother play the game, he is now laughing and all excited his brother let him help him play the basketball game. Dawnetta Tipton 2:20pm: Kylan gets up from his brother lap and walks into the kitchen and tries to open the refrigerator, his mother comes into the kitchen and ask him â€Å"Are you thirsty† and he nods his head yes and she gets his sippy cup out and he proceeds to drink his juice. 2:24pm: Kylan climbs up on the sofa and sits down staring at the picture of Spongebob on his cup, he looks at me and smile. Mom put in a DVD of Sesame Street and he proceeds to watch the show. 2:30pm: Kylan has now laid down on the sofa still watching his Sesame Street DVD while playing with his feet. My comparison of the 2 children ages 9 months old and 1 year 10 months old was that both were active children. Both had a lot of energy, and kept busy. The 9 month old was just learning how to walk and the 1 year 10 month old had been walking since 11 months old. The 1 year 10 month old is more vocal than the 9 month old, he can say some words and the 9 month old could make noises and sound. The 1 year 10 month old could show mom that he was thirsty and the 9 month old could only cry to signal to grandmother that she was thirsty. The 1 year 10 month old could climb on the sofa where as the 9 month old could only gesture for someone to pick up and place onto the sofa. I feel these 2 children were pretty much similar to what they could do just that the 1 year 10 month old was little more advanced in completing the things he wanted to do where as the 9 month old needed assistance from someone. Artemisia Gentileschi Example For Students

Artemisia Gentileschi Biography Artemisia Gentileschi was an early Italian painter of the Baroque era, the first woman elected to the Academy of Painting in Florence and the only female follower of Caravaggio, whom she worked with in Italy in the early 17th century. She was one of the earliest female painters to enter into the male-dominated artistic community of the time. Her innovative compositions in art and focus on Biblical heroines set her apart from her male contemporaries and have led to the celebration of Gentileschi as a painter with a uniquely female perspective. For many years she was regarded as a curiosity. Today she is regarded as one of the most progressive and expressive painters of her generation. Her mother died during childbirth when Artemisia was 12 years old. Her father soon found a replacement for his wife, and Artemisia began to learn the basics of the artists skill. As a young girl, she served as an apprentice to her father, learning the skills of a professional painter. Her drawings were excellent in accuracy. She made her first well-known work at the age of 17, â€Å"Susanna and the Elders.† Being a girl, she was not accepted into any painting academy thus her father hired his colleague, the landscape painter  Agostino Tassi, to give lessons for Artemisia.  In 1612, Tassi raped Gentileschi, an event now inextricably linked to her name.  After a lengthy and painful trial, Tassi was found guilty of rape and jailed for eight months. This event had a tremendously negative impact on Artemisia Gentileschi and her reputation, and the artist suffered from gossip that branded her a promiscuous woman. During some time, Artemisia even waited for Tassi to offer her a marriage this option still looked better than public humiliation. But the marriage did not take place, as it turned out that Agostino Tassi was already married, but he â€Å"forgot to report. Artemisias father quickly arranged marriage, in order to save his daughters honor. She married to Florence painter Pierantonio Stiattesi, and the couple moved to  Florence, where Artemisia Gentileschi became a celebrated artist. She was accepted into a painters academy and befriended Galileo Galilei. Here she worked under the patronage of Cosimo II Medici. In the following decades, she lived in Rome, Venice, Naples, and London, where she worked as a painter for the court of Charles I alongside her father. In the Neapolitan period, the artist first received an order for a fresco painting of the church – in the town of Pozzuoli near Naples. The death of her father in 1939 and the English civil war, led Gentileschi to leave the country.   Then she returned to Naples, where he lived until his death. While there, she painted her â€Å"Self-Portrait as the Allegory of Painting.† During her life, she painted several different self-portraits. It is not known exactly when she died. It is thought that she was one of many victims of the great pestilence that struck Naples in 1656. Art historian Charles Moffat believes Artemisia may have committed suicide, which would explain why the cause of her death was not recorded. While Gentileschi was a recognized painter in her lifetime, after her death a great deal of her work fell into obscurity and was often attributed to other followers of Caravaggio or to her father. Key Ideas in painting The picturesque manner of Artemisia was not so much influenced by her father Orazio Gentileski as the all-encompassing impact of Caravaggio, manifested both stylistically and thematically. Her paintings combine bright, dramatic effects, expressive cut-off contrasts, and rich colors. .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 , .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .postImageUrl , .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 , .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:hover , .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:visited , .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:active { border:0!important; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:active , .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673 .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u49d302a2cd1ea859e184cffbc6997673:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Vittore CarpaccioDue to personal circumstances (Artemisia experienced a shameful lawsuit related to sexual violence), the main theme of Gentileschi s creativity was the female ability to defend ones own dignity. For a woman at the beginning of the seventeenth century, Artemisia being a painter represented an uncommon and difficult choice, but not an exceptional one. The famous Italian art critic of the twentieth century Roberto Longhi called her the only woman in Italy who ever knew about painting, coloring, drawing, and other fundamentals. Longhi argued that of the 57 famous paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi, at least 49 depict women, like or even equal to men. Artemisia writes mostly women in her works. In kind, her own body often serves for them. They are always very strong, dominant women, ruling their own destiny. Gentileschi often chose historic and biblical subjects in her drawings that featured a female protagonist: Susanna, Bathsheba, Esther, Judith, etc. Other repetitive plots of famous paintings by Artemisia are Lucretius, Cleopatra, queen of Savsky, that is, glorified women of the past. Famous paintings made by Artemisia Gentileschi Among famous works of Artemisia Gentileschi are â€Å"Samson  and  Delilah,† â€Å"Virgin and Child,† â€Å"Lucretia,† Judith Slaying Holofernes,† â€Å"Madonna and Child,† â€Å"Jael and Sisera.† Using lustrous colors and chiaroscuro soon after the trial, Artemisia Gentileschi painted her most famous work â€Å"Judith Slaying Holofernes† (1612-1613), where her life experiences were expressed. The artwork is remarkable not only for its technical proficiency but for the original way in which Gentileschi portrays Judith, who had long been a popular subject for art. Artemisia will repeat this story many times, outliving painful experiences. Violence against a woman will become the theme of her other artwork like Susanna and the Elders. And the inevitable continuation of this topic will be violence the bloody and terrible female revenge in work Jael and Sisara. Artemisia painted many portraits and famous works during her life and quickly surpassed her father’s fame. Lucretia Virgin and Child Judith Slaying Holofernes Self-portrait Susanna and the elders So, in the history of world Baroque art, Artemisia was an author who was not only talented enough to achieve glory and recognition despite all social and discriminatory conditions in her biography. This is a woman who was able to loudly say we are not worse and get approval officially, at the Academy of Arts level.

Arsenic and Old Lace essays

Arsenic and Old Lace essays When people in town see Martha and Abby Brewster, they only see half of what is truly there. The people of Brooklyn, New York see two elderly sisters who give to charity and do good all around town. Little do these people know that these ladies are sinister sisters, they poison travelers and have their nephew, Teddy, bury them in the basement. The two women have two other nephews, Mortimer and Jonathon, one is engaged and the other is the black sheep of the family. Lots of laughs were thrown into this twisted play that some how keep the sisters lovable. Early in the play the sisters are chatting with the minister of their church about the war. Abby says at one point, It may not be very charitable of me, but Ive almost come to the conclusion that this Mr. Hitler isnt a Christian. (462) Now people may wonder how such sweet old ladies may turn to murder. The twist in the plot is that they do not see it as murder at all and do not hide the fact that they kill people and bury them in the basement. They see their act of murder as an act of charity. Their victims are always old Christian men who have no family and no friends. Weary travelers seek refuge at their house and never leave after one sip of the elderberry wine the twisted sisters mix up themselves. So exactly how do these sisters manage to do these horrible murders? It is simple really, their father was a doctor and had various medicines and powders stored in his laboratory and they borrowed a few of them. One nation under law

One nation under law Cherokee Indian case revealed the weaknesses of the American Supreme Court as the provisions were not in line with the American constitution. In 1832, the US Supreme Court exercised it powers in enforcing rights of the Native Americans against the state.Advertising We will write a custom critical writing sample on One nation under law specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The Supreme Court had ruled before that it lacked the mandate in ruling over the Indian nation. Initially, the court rejected claims that the native tribes had self-governance and considered independent. It was a struggle of legal and political status of the native tribes in America. The weaknesses of the American court system became realized when it rejected the Cherokee claims that they were independent just like other sovereign federal states around. The Supreme Court rejected this claim in the first case and latter developed a different theory in the second case (The Supreme Court, n. d). The Supreme Court did not speak and stand for the national values and the inspirations of the people as spelt by the constitution. It worked in favor of one side hence showed the weakness it has. John marshal avoided the same case earlier in his career when he gave his opinion on the relationship between the United States and Indian nations. According to him, the federal states in America inherited the rights from its colonial master who was Britain and became independent with those rights. He believed that US should give same rights to the Indian nations with exclusion of the European political powers. He argued his case that the Indian nations should have all other rights but not to posses land and have political dominion over their laws. John marshal avoided the case by acknowledging exercising conquest, which may lead to dominion of political power. However, his take was that the case should not be for the state but in the federal government. The court rule d in favor of Cherokee that it was a community on its own and could govern itself without involving Georgia.Advertising Looking for critical writing on political sciences? The doctrine of the court was that only the state has the mandate of reviewing land issues related to Indian nation unlike in the case of Georgia. The weakness in the court system realized during this period was when Georgia refused to enforce and comply with the court as it had independent with powers. The relocation of the Cherokees was absolute misuse of powers and court had jurisdiction. Different states exercise their powers and have the guaranteed independence that gives them freedom to do all they can within their mandate. The courts ruling giving sovereignty to a tribal group of indigenous communit y within a state is a weakness of the state. The constitution guarantees rights to individuals and they are limited to certain degree. Many states as well as individuals like to exercise power on their own capacity but it has to have its limitations in line with the constitution. America is one nation under law hence the subdivision divides the country which might not be important at long run. As the supreme gave sovereignty to the Indian nation and gave the state the powers to negotiate on the Indian lands, it was trying to protect the interest of a small group at the expense of the federal state, as Georgia had to comply and wait for the new governor to effect the court decisions. Why companies sometimes face difficulties in raising finance

Why companies sometimes face difficulties in raising finance Topic: Explain what sources of finance are available for small to medium sized companies and explain why they sometimes face difficulties in raising finance Introduction Due to the establish of modern enterprise system and thoroughly in structural reforms of market economy, there are lot of opportunities contained in the market, but it is also existing many unexpected risks, particularly for the small to medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) which has limited resources to resist in this treacherous environment. To survive and adapts to the environment for a SME is to maintain its advantage in meticulous daily management and even more important is to have a long-term view strategic thinking especially in financial strategy. A good finance strategy can help SME to set up and expand their operations, development and also investment (OECD, 2006), further to get funds which make them competitively and can get well results they desired (Park, 2010). Making a finance strategy is very significant to a company; company has to consider both of internal condition and external environment problem and even more factors which are related to company. However, the SME has its particular characteristic, it is not suitable to adopt the same action with a large company; they better to create a strategy which fits to the company according to its demand. Finding a proper financial strategy for a developing SME, not only can help SME to reinforce its essence, the more important is the sustainability of its development. Define company There is no accurate definition for small to medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) and most of countries define it according to specific condition by their way. Nevertheless, there are some particular characteristics (Bank of England, 2001 Brookfield, 2001) about SMEs and they are: The enterprises are not quoted Ownership is often connected between family and shareholder and the business is typically restricted to few individuals. Most of SMEs are small groups business and always achieve self-employment effectively. In the past, the definition for SMEs from European Commission was unequivocal, it was defined by individual country, for instance, Germany regulated the amount of employee under 250 was part of SME, but in Belgium, the number was became 100. However, in the recent years, the data from European Commission shows that the definition has adjusted and is qualified as a SME by some criteria (see figure 1-1) (European Commission, 2010) in headcount, turnover and balance sheet total. Figure 1-1 the definition of a small firm from European Commission Importance of finance Nowadays, the enterprises finance is facing a dynamic, diversification and complicated managing environment. Managing finance is not only to provide a specific method or device for a firm; it is to assimilate the principle and manner from strategic management. Start from the view of adapting to the environment and using the vantage, to pay much attention in financial long-term problem and strategic problem. In the situation of lacking of the resources for SME, to create a suitable financial strategic and well dominate the limited resource is significant since a better financial systems can help to improve the probability of successful innovation and bring accelerate economic growth. (King, et al., 1993) The focus of enterprises financial strategy is the basic path on future development, goal and goal accomplishment for the financial action; this is the difference between financial strategy and other strategies. The master objective of enterprises financial strategy is reasonably to assemble, dominate and use its resources, tend to balance and flow enterprises capital, also to build the core competitive strength and to achieve the maximization of enterprise value in the end. Some aspects of this goal are related/ connected to each other; from the view of a long-term performance, to seek the enterprises sustainability growth in financial resource and capability, and furthermore to accomplish the rising of enterprises capital value and make enterprises financial capability can sustained, quick and healthily increase, conduce to maintain and develop enterprises competitive advantage. While enterprise building the core competitive strength for their strategic management, they need the support from financial management. The financial management which treats capital management as a significant content, it needs to express the requirement for enterprises strategy and to guarantee its practice. The value of practicing the financial strategy is to retain a health condition in enterprises finance and also effectively in controlling the financial risk. There are twelve types of financing and growth in SMEs and it can be very usefully and provided a great help if it is supplied properly according to SMEs particular requirement (Brookfield, 2001). Initial owner financing (Equity finance) Business angel financing Trade credit Leasing Factoring Venture capital Short-term bank loans (Debt finance) Medium term bank loans Mezzanine finance Private placements Public equity Public debt A company should manage its financing structure in a way that its debt and equity are in balanced manner. This fact helps company to avoid insolvency. Excess of either debt or finance could result in loss of wealth. I will be explaining some of the important methods of financing in following section. Equity finance Equity financing is that the shareholder sells the part of corporate control to introduce the new shareholder by raising the capital (Watson, et al., 2007). The enterprise does not need to pay the interest on principal if the capital is received from equity financing and the new shareholder can share the profit from enterprise as well. Equity financing includes stock issuance, allotment and debt for equity swap. Some features of equity financing, are: Stock equity is firms first right of its property, it is the base for enterprise to absorb the civil liability and to responsibility for firms own profits and losses; furthermore, it is also the base for investor to control the enterprise and to distribute the profit. Equity financing is the base of deciding an enterprise to the outward debt. Certainly, there are some advantages of equity financing that help enterprise in investment and management. Equity financing builds a good system in corporate governance structure, which consists of shareholders meeting, board of directors, Board of supervisors and executives. It is effectively in decreasing the risk of management. In the modern finance theory, stock market is also called open market; it means that the standardization financial products are dealing in a trading area with an extensively institutionalization. It has its criterion and processes it in the condition of information revelation and fare dealing. In financial translation, the more important is publicity and availability of information; and that is why the stock market is better than loan market in both competitiveness of capital price and publicity of information. Venture capital Venture capital is the fund which is collected by private placement and set as the type of organization; invest to unlisted small and medium-sized newly emerging enterprises and in the capital type of both high risk and high reciprocation. Venture capital is different from mutual fund, unit trust and securities investment fund; it has its features in operating of investment and collection, such as, Venture capital absorbs the venture with enterprise; the venture capitalist needs to cooperate closely with entrepreneur and help the firm to make a plan. Management is part of investment. Venture capital is an investment in long-term and poor flowability; venture capitalist and entrepreneur become a common destiny once they invest. Venture capital is high risk and requires the venture capitalist with specialized skill, and need to achieve specialization and programmed in choosing the project, tend to avoid the risk. Before inspect the financial index, the venture capitalist pays more attention in market prospect, development strategy and managing quality. Sharing the bonus from enterprise is not the purpose of venture capital, they make it as a return by increasing the capital when they are exiting; the time for exiting is always when go on public or sell it. Debt finance Debt financing is also called bond financing, it is the way which the firm can raise money for enterprises external finance; and debt can also be conducted and fitted to the requirement of issuing companies and investors (Watson, et al., 2007). It is included long-term bank loans, short-term financing (such as bills, debt receivable, and letter of credit), enterprise Bond and short-term financial bonds, also long-term bond financing, finance lease, discount government loans, government loan, Loans from international financial organizations and private bond fund. The first expense enterprise needs to pay is the interest of capital which receives from debt financing and the principal on the debt will be paid to creditor at maturity (Davis, et al., 1994). The feature of purpose for debt financing is to solve the problem of deficiency in working capital rather than the expenditure under the capital account. Debt financing can be described by two features, The received capital from debt financing is only for using, it is not the property of the enterprise, and the firm needs to pay interest and the principal is repayable. Compare to equity financing, except some specific situations that debt financing may bring creditor the problem of intervention or controlling, otherwise it is barely to have the problem of corporate control. However, debt financing has its advantage for helping the firm in investment and management, The lenders have ability to collect and analyze the states of investment, also can have long-term investigate and oversee the enterprise to avoid the moral hazard. The function of the creditors right is when firm can pay off the debt, the firm will hold the corporate control, whereas of the enterprise cannot offer the debt, the corporate control will be turned to lender. Why do SMEs find financing a problem? Due to SMEs small size capital, the capability for defending the market risk is not as strong as a large firm, plus a faulty finance system, it causes the problem into SMEs finance management (Pissarides, 1999). The main reasons and problem are: No criterion in SMEs finance accounting system In application of finance system in SME exist some problems, which make loose financial control. A loose inventory control can lead to the stagnation of capital and excessive final inventory; the capital of final inventory always in a high proportion if compare to sale revenue. The firm usually loses a large number of assets due to focus on capital much more than assets and even wastes it seriously; moreover, to control the finished products, semi-manufactured goods and low-value expendable without a faultless system. It is negligent in managing the cash and weakness in debt receivable Some of enterprises think that it is good to hold cash (including bank deposit), and better to have more; the proportion of reserve is too high, it makes lot of capital cannot really run in operation, and also causes the capital idleness. In addition, some firms invest too much in real estate and lead to finance difficulty due to could not handle the emergent need of management. Also deficiency in managing working capital creates problems problem capital withdrawal. Difficulty in funding, the capital is insufficient It is not easy to run the SME in a practically environment, especially the unequal treatment in funding between SME and larger enterprise. The banks are not willing to loan to them, particularly the difficulty in guarantee and lack of the specialized agency to offer the assurance service is still the main problem for SME and it obviously happens in some huge investments. Unrestraint in investment The SME is lacking of the ability to analyze the investment accurately and to evaluate the effectiveness of operating the capital. The majority of investment in SME is from banking, due to the respectability of a SME is not as high as a large company, it is an obstacle in attracting the banking to invest or loan to the SME. The mode of management is backward Most of SME is running the business as a family workshop; they are operation the management in a backward way and an old-fashioned thinking way, do not understand and even not willing to understand or learn the modern financial management. The proprietor always treats the enterprise as an extension of familys property; in order to control the business entirely without decentralize the ownership, it causes the lost of the opportunities in growing. Conclusion SMEs play an important role in the general macroeconomic environment, and provide the enormous opportunities for employment. However, due to the small size and limited source, usually SMEs has to face to the challenge in financing problem. For solving the problem, the major impact is from government and the law (Industrial Systems Research). In existing policy has to be adjusted by government; the government needs to reinforce the related law and regulation to implement SMEs development strategy and preferential clause. Furthermore, have to set up the institution for managing and supporting SMEs development. To increase the method for financing; SMEs need to respect the debt from bank and to pay back the debt on time; then to healthy the internal system and raise the handling of material. Lastly, to improve accountants structure and criterion of financial management; enhance the punishment for the illegality to makes they pay attention in financial system.

Genie: Social Isolation :: Free Essays

Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  This was one of the most interesting cases in my opinion, which we have so far learned about. It was amazing to me first of all how a person could go undetected in those conditions for that amount of time. It was also extremely mind boggling how people could treat their own child like that, which really made me wonder the type of morals and views that those parents were brought up with. It made me extremely sad to realize all of the wonders of life that Genie was deprived of. She had been locked in that room for over ten years, which means she was practically nonexistent to the world, and had never experienced things we all take for granted every day. I truly do not know how she survived in that type of torturous confinement for ten years. However, it was encouraging to see the efforts of all the people who truly became wrapped up in Genie’s case, and the hope that she would have a learning capacity. It was amazing to me to know that she was really a fourt een year old girl, yet to hear her speak she sounded like a toddler. I found it interesting to see her progress from knowing no English words, to being fascinated by the labeling with words of all the new objects around her. It seemed to me as if she knew a language existed for everything, but was frustrated because she could not realize her goal and put words to objects quickly enough. I found it interesting to see Genie pick up the patterns of language recognition, but not commonly as it happens in children, however, it seemed as though you were teaching an old dog new tricks. I was disappointed at the ending of the film, because for me there was no good conclusion, or happy fairy tale ending that I expected.
